We stayed here last year (Jan. 2008) and really enjoyed our time. We plan on returning next year with our friends. The place is very nice, pretty gardens, a large pool that was never busy, quiet, very spacious rooms, good TV channels in English. It also wasn't too far from the beach. My stayed at the Khao lak Palm bech resort was wonderful. Our road trip was perfect; we drove from Bangkok to Phuket and then Khao Lak. We stayed for 5 nights and love the property. We booked a reservation at this hotel for the silliest of reasons: we found the English translation on hotelthailand.com very charming! We were looking for a place that was accessible to Similan islands yet inexpensive, and Khaolak Palm Hill fit the bill. stayed for only 4 nights but will be back next year, basic rooms were huge and furnished nicely, great big pool which we had mainly to ourselves also beautiful gardens, located 2 mins from centre yet extremly quiet and relaxed, rooms at 1750 baht were great value for high season. hotel website has many photos and it is as good... more
