We really liked it here, nice little guesthouse with the main rooms and then the bungalows. We had just one of the normal rooms with a fan, it was so warm but being able to move the fan around made it fine. Location was great, and on the Saturday there was a huge market/ event going on just over the... More

This is definitely a good choice if you are looking for a budget hostel - 200 Baht/night for a large private room with shared bathroom It's a 5 min walk from the centre of town. It has a nice garden area to sit and relax in. The other guests were all very friendly. Rooms and bathroom all clean. Staff were... More

As far as guesthouses go, this one is absolutely average. I've no idea where this super friendly family was, the service I got was lukewarm and uninspiring (and I think I'm a super friendly traveller!). I think it's probably more of a hostel with private rooms. The room itself was okay, nothing to rave about. There's no toilet paper in... More

I stayed at Ban Thai for 2 nights, 6th February to 8th February. I really enjoyed my stay at Ban Thai. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was basic but comfortable and very cheap. The hostel is very close to the bars and restaurants but far enough away to allow you to sleep. There is great common... More

We stayed here 2 nights to visit the old city. Its was a lovely little guesthouse, very peacefull. Set in a lovely little garden! We had a 200baht twin room, shared bathroom. The room was clean and tidy and the bathrooms were nicely done. The restaurant was supurb and very reasonably price, try the sweet and sour, best ever! Staff... More

Rooms are very clean, basic ofcourse, for this price you can't expect more. A nice little garden and restaurant so you have some space to relax. But the very best thing is the warm hug when we left and all the big smiles. I would definitly stay here again. Food is very tasteful although not very cheap.

It depends what you want. If you looking for a hotel-like accomodation, search elsewhere. if you looking for a cheap sleep, i can recommend it. the cheap price rescues Ban Thai the 4 Stars rating, if it would be slighlty more expensive, it would get only 3 stars. Pros: restaurant is good, price is very good Cons: lots and lots... More

The guesthouse is lovely located in a quiet street offering private bungalows and bedrooms with fans and shared bathrooms. We stayed in one of the standard rooms with shared showers/toilets and it was a clean room and comfortable bed. The restaurant offered good food and yummy breakfast though the service is slow. The downside is breakfast's not included in the... More

Ban Thai is located just a few minutes from the bridge into new town. It is also located 100 yards from the songtheaw that takes you to the Historic Park. The bungalows are set in a nice garden surrounded by lush jungle like flora and even includes a fish pond. One of the family members grows Banzi plants and some... More
