We booked to stay at this hotel on 30th December. This is my second time staying here, this hotel needs some serious up grading. This time and last time the people at the reception are some what friendly. We didnt feel welcomed at all, they seemed annoyed with us for some reason. The only person we found friendly was this one... more

We stayed 4 nights in a Standard Room based on reviews here, however we were disappointed it was really our worst hotel in Vietnam. It is very tired and just going into the hotel you have a bar on one side which always smells of smoke. Most of the guests are either construction or oil workers. Vung Tau is not... more

In all, given its age, the Rex offers everything you need. It's clean, tidy does a great omlette for breakfast and the pool is in good nick - if a little too warm! The pool bar opens late, and as long as you don't get distracted by the hired help round the pool table you can always enjoy a good... more

My husband and I stayed in the Rex Hotel for two nights. The hotel was nice -- walking distance to a lot of places to eat, near the water and the pool was wonderful. The rooms themselves were basic and clean enough. The bathrooms were clean and worked just fine. I wouldn't say the hotel was glamourous, but we liked... more

I called Rex to check the price for the standard room and the girl told me still have some more rooms available. I told her i will discuss with my hubby first. After 2 mins, my hubby called to book the standard room, they told him it was fully booked. The person kept pestering him to book for suite, then... more

service was friendly and efficient. we ate at the restaurant and ordered room service for most of our meals and all meals were good and priced fairly. The pool and gardens were lovely and in fact we spent most of our days there. We stayed in a "city view standard" room. Our room was on the back corner so we... more

I was traveling with four of my fellow Vietnam Veteran friends. This was my first visit since 1967. Everything was beautiful. The Rex hotel is a great place to stay. We were there five nights and had no complaints. I will stay there on my next visit. more

Stayed 2 nights in a superior room and 1 night in a suite. Definitely pay the extra $50 bucks for the suite! Rooms were big, clean and serviced daily. Location is quite central and breakfast was adequate. Hang out at the bar by the pool at night. Hilarious! The front desk staff aren't the friendliest people on earth but efficient... more

The Rex Hotel lies in just about the centre of Vung Tau, short walk from everything (though walking is nothing a Vietnamese would even think of; he drives his motorbike), maybe except the marketplace. The hotel has 8 floors, nice rooms, a nice swimming pool area, great staff and reasonable prices (USD 45 - 55/night). One or two doormen stand... more
