We stayed at the Swiss Belhotel in Banjarmasin in mid Dec 2009 on business trip. We were shocked when we saw the hotel from outside as there were many local shop houses on the side which is something we did not expect from a leading hotel in the city.
Inside.. the lobby is acceptable and the second floor (the top floor) is a decent place for having a meeting. We stayed in rooms in the second floor and were suprsied by the lenght of the corridor. It is quite a pain if your room is right at the end of the corridor and you have walk the length of the dimly lit corridor at night. Smoking is allowed in the rooms and corridor which adds to your discomfort. The carperts are dirty and have lost their orignal shine which makes the entire setting quite morose.
In the room, the beds are not firm and you can feel the spring when you lie down. In the bathroom, the showers have a very good pressure but the john is crammped in a corner next to the shower. My colleague had a giant...
