My trip to Japamala was actually during June 2009. Read about the great reviews posted here and decided to check out this amazing resort for a 4D/3N stay. What can I say? It definitely met our expectations, and perhaps surpassed it! On a trip to Singapore we took a few days to visit this paradisical island. Perfect spot to spend a week with your half...nothing much to do except centralize on your couple enjoying wonderful views, colours, warm blue sea, snorkelling, thai oil massage in the open air spa...The best is when the resort is not full... It's one of the most beautiful resorts in the world! Very peaceful and quite resort, probably with more staff than guests! This is a resort with 5-star service and but not 5-star amenities. There were some renovations going on but never disturbed us. The resort never seems busy and is an hotel for people physically in good shape. To our room (treetop nº13) we had more than 100 stairs... not all together, not that difficult and the walkway through the jungle... more

We stay in japamala for 2 nights. it was truely wonderfull. it is a rest and relax place, just do nothing, sunbathing, reading, enjoy the sun set. We stay in tree top chalet. It's RM680 per night. We stayed at Japamala no Tioman for four days, spent in complete relaxation. Not the place to go for an extended stay, as activities are quite expensive (half-day snorkelling trip = 250 Ringgits per person).
