Sparkling clean, friendly, central and inexpensive, the London is all the non-resort traveller needs when exploring the Sandakan environs or preparing for more 'off-road' experiences. Being long-standing members of the community, the Heng family know where to direct the adventurous visitor for outstanding excursions at sensible rates, after starting the day with breakfast in the roof-garden overlooking the bustling town,... more

The hotel is nice and was a very good value for money for budget travellers. Situated at the heart of Sandakan, London hotel was a very convenient way to spend a few nights in the city 5especially if going to Sepilok). Big room well appointed, staff helpful (although you now need to pay to park the car). A good option... more

I'm starting to wonder if there are 2 Hotel Londons in Sandakan as I seem to have gone to the wrong one! I had 2 nights booked here, I didn't go back for the 2nd. The room is very small, it needs a good clean, the bed is lumpy and uncomfortable. I know it's only RM55, but that's not enough... more

I stayed for 4 nights (55 yo f), travelling with my daughter and her partner. The hotel was very good value. Clean. Breakfast was fine. Roof garden was very useful. TV worked. AC worked. Staff and management were very polite, helpful and friendly. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting an inexpensive, comfortable accommodation. We stayed during Ramadan, and the... more

We stayed here for two nights in September 2009. Booking managed by email - prompt responses and helpful staff. On arrival they offered us chance to see the room before we paid. For only RM55 room was really good value - basically clean and safe; obviously at that price no real comfort but absolutely fine! Breakfast (toast, coffee, bananas) included... more

I booked the hotel through reviews on tripadvisor and i was not dissapointed ! We were a large group of 12 including children and even though i had booked a total of 5 rooms initially, the hotel staff kindly allowed us to use 4 and not charge us the extra. The rooms were fine in size and large enough to... more

Its fine - BUT 55RM rooms very small and our bathroom was dirty and toilet hadn't been cleaned; previous guests presents were still in the bowl - lovely. We did ask for it to be cleaned but to be honest it was still not clean afterwards. Shower was a dribble and as previously stated it smelt. Our bed wasn't great... more

The staff was great and the hotel itself is situated pretty much in the middle of everything. Management went out of their way to help us get a taxi who would take all of us (we are a group of 5) and there's a lot of information they provide about nearby sightseeing. Great recommendations and connections to agencies and other... more

Hotel London is situated at the back of Sandakan, near the Sandakan Hotel. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the harbour, and a convenient point from which to walk to the Agnes Keith House. The staff were efficient at taking my e-mail booking and we had no problems on arrival. The lobby is bright with internet access and... more
