I arrived at Hacienda Merida looking forward to a relaxing exploration of Ometepe and was sure the Hacienda would of course be helpful. I have been to Hacienda Merida twice. The food is excellent, the prices are very reasonable, the people are helpful, and the setting is phenomenal. I have mixed feelings about this place. We found this hotel from one of the many flyers lying around in a hostel in Granada and though we would give it a go. Hotel Hacienda Merida is a laid-back, relaxed inn on the shores of the lake in the rural outback of Omotepe. This is a decent hostel type property in Merida. Some private rooms, dorms, and places for tents. The website (http://www.hmerida.com/) has some information but can be misleading.
