Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My first time to stay at the Lilygate. I stayed for 5 nights and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff is very competent, attentive and cheerful. The manager is a lady named Chineri (sp) who was very pleasant and promptly attended to all requests. They have a well-appointed gym with weight machines and treadmills and an outdoor pool next to the restaurant, with a lounging area and poolside services. The rooms are adequate and well-maintained. I had a single room which was okay for my needs, but it would be a bit cramped for more than 1 or 2 people. It has a free breakfast buffet and has a full restaurant and bar. The Hotel was built in 2014 and still has a new feel to it. Its in Lekki Phase 1 not far from the Lekki-Ikoye bridge, and a very pleasant place to stay for a business trip. I recommend it.

To sum it up - This hotel is appalling. I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks and regretted it ever since I arrived. Customer Service Initially, the hotel looks very nice however they lack customer service. For example, I've ordered food a few times from my room and they'd call me back 20 minutes after I ordered to tell me it was unavailable - bear in mind most things were unavailable then the food took a further 40 minutes to arrive. I called room service for an iron and after 30 minutes, no one brought it so I had to call and remind them, and again I never received it. Also, the workers here weren't very friendly, they seemed reluctant to do things. However, I can say the doormen and security guards were always polite and helpful. Room The bed is a nice size for 2 and the Superior room gives a presidential feel which is nice. However, the bathroom was dated. There was no toilet brush and we had to be asked countless times to change our towels every day. They seemed reluctant to do so and even told me 'No' a few times. The towels also didn't smell fresh. They did give 2 water bottles every day which was nice. Some of the plugs/switches didn't work and when I put in my charger it made a hissing sound. Our room key also didn't work the first 2 days I stayed over so I had to wait in the reception to be escorted to my room every time. The lights in our room are very dim and randomly switched off. Many didn't turn on when we turned the switch on. Lastly, mysterious water was dripping from one of the lightbulbs for a few days. They said it was water from upstairs but failed to give extra information. Was it toilet water? Washing water? The pipes? We had to pester them for days for them to finally get an electrician to fix the issue. We asked to cancel the reservation completely since there were a few things wrong with the room and they had difficulty doing so, so we asked for a room upgrade which a receptionist said was okay. Instead of a room upgrade, they showed us the same Superior room but smaller. We were so fed up that we decided to just stay because what was the point of moving to a smaller room? Food The breakfast buffet does have a range of options however I wish there was more fruit. Food after breakfast is hard to order because most things are unavailable and take forever to come. Food was mediocre. Facilities There's a pool and gym so that's nice. Overall, there was a lack of hospitality. I am very disappointed as I was recommended this place but I can't seem to even like it. The 2 stars are for the polite and helpful door and gates men and how the entrance of the hotel looked. Do not come here - it is not 4/5 stars

The hotel and decor generally are quite classy with lots of effort put in but a number of things let’s it down. The chief one being the rude unhelpful surly reception/house keeping manager who should really never be allowed near customers. Has zero idea on customer service and how to help. Her mission seems to be to make a slightly bad situation escalate until you just want to leave! Room are nice and cleanliness is good with comfy beds and good internet. Shower fine except last day when no water at all and again no real response from staff except “hard luck!” Food is ok if a little slow. Didn’t use pool to swim in but tried sitting by it one morning to be told I have to move as they setting up a pool party. No request to move just an order!!! The shining light is most of the other staff who smile and are friendly. Special mention for Morton who knows what he wants hotel to he. To conclude, it’s a nice hotel and liveable but could be so much better! Oh…and put surly face out the back!

Good day Morten, I trust you are keeping well. I have spent 3 weeks, over the month of September until the 5th of October, and thoroughly enjoyed the 3 stays at the Lilygate Hotel. From day one I found all your staff, from the reception/porters/restaurant /kitchen and housekeeping teams to be exceptionally professional, friendly and customer focused. Every request/question I had was greeted with a smile and no request was too much trouble for anyone, and to be greeted by your name everywhere is very pleasing. Your hotel employees are certainly a great example of how a hotel should be run and their customer care and focus has been fantastic, and certainly a positive indictment of yourself and the hotel management team. Thank you, and your team for making my stay away from home as pleasant and as comfortable as possible, I have really enjoyed my stay here and look forward to my next visit in early 2023. Kind regards. Mike

Loved the place. The staff are super friendly and engaging, and always trying to give you a feel of Nigeria and home at the same time. Shout out to Blessing, Hellen, Christiana and the best of them all de oga, de boss, Mr.chairman himself a certain Mr. Sunday. That dude deserves a raise(I'm talking to you management, yes you). Superb restaurant. The breakfast is enough to feed a village hehehehe and the beef steak is to die for. With all that, they even give you a chance to burn the extra calories you get from too much pampering in a state of the art gym...add a little swimming in there. They maintain a lovely ambience for chill music on all days with a live band over the weekends. They got over 60Mbps of WIFI speeds(That isht fast as hell) Basically, you have literally everything under one roof.

Nice hotel and great restaurant. Just loud entertainment until 1 am on certain days if you’re room is facing the front of restaurant. Sleep late I guess or get out and party. Nice staff and very friendly. Buffet food all spicy so be prepared if you can’t eat spicy. Good stay though

I stayed at Lilygate for 2 weeks with my sister. The hotel became like home. The staff were all attentive and helpful. It was clean, breakfast choice was vast. Overall a really nice stay. The rooms are a little smaller than you expect but it was still really comfortable. Would definitely visit here again, and definitely recommend.
