After hiking the Inca Trek for 4 days, our expectations were not very high-all we needed was a real bed and hot shower. And we got it with no complaints. I had reserved two rooms with balconies, and we had absolutely lovely views of the Urumbamba river out the window. It was very relaxing. I did not notice any bad smells or mosquitos, as other reviewers have mentioned about Aguas Calientes (maybe because of the time of year?).
This hotel was very, very basic, and a little more expensive than our hotel in Cusco, but I understand that most hotels in Aguas are overpriced. You may want to see the room first, as ours had no chest of drawers or chair, but I noticed other rooms had these things. For just one night this wasn't an issue for me, plus we were so exhausted after the trek, I think we fell asleep at 8pm. There was no tv which didn't bother me but I thought it was funny that there was pencilled in writing on the wall "tv". Not sure if they plan on...
