My boyfriend and I stayed at La Cabana after our trek, before Machu Pichu. I must be fair and say we encountered no problems, but the tent we slept in during our trek (without showering!) felt more comfortable sheerly because our guides took so much care in us. Everything was "ok" (checkin, staff, hot water, room, bed, noise, breakfast) though... More

I should start by saying we stayed in Peru for almost two weeks and our other two hotels were lovely. Not only were they lovely, but one was 1/3 less expensive than this hotel (in Lima), and the other we got for half as much as this hotel (in Cusco). Also, we had just finished the Inka Trail Trek, and... More

We were forewarned not to linger in Aguas Calientes and we were happy we planned accordingly. We arrived just in time for dinner/bed and up at the crack of dawn. We had low expectations for La Cabana and it met them, just barely. Most things in AC seem overpriced and not that great as you might expect. Our "superior" room... More

Going into this I knew that this wasnt really the hotel for me....however I was left with little choice in my price bracket when El Mapi was completely booked out for our dates in MP. Pros: -Super friendly staff -Large comfy bed - although I did leave with some bites on my leg....which I now have realised appear to look... More

I will start by saying that this is an economic choice for Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu), unfortunately we were not very pleased with our room; its window looked out into the main social area or hallway therefore there was no real air circulation and we heard throughout the night and morning people getting in and out of their rooms. Then... More

We stayed only one night 4/28/13 and I was very disappointed considering the reviews I read on this site. The last time I stayed anywhere that did not have hot water plumbed to the bathroom sink was a campground. The walls were very thin and the noise echoed from the center lounge areas. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast... More

Having read numerous tripadvisor reviews and wiki travel articles before my arrival, I had low expectations for the tourist town which Aguas Calientes is. As such, the room I was shown met my already low expectations. I would echo the comments other reviewers have made about the damp smell in the rooms, but the reason is obvious. Many of the... More

Positive points: - breakfast is served as early as 5am, which is compatible with catching the first bus to Machu Picchu - exceptionally friendly, patient and available staff. Gladly kept our luggage after checkout until our train left in the afternoon. Instantly and nicely helped us when we locked ourselves out of the room :-) - nice room with terrace... More

This was the low point for accommodations on our trip to Peru. Like the reviewer before me we had the top room (#50). It was raining outside and the room was cold and damp. The bathroom smelled of sewage. The lock on the hotel room door was like a bathroom door lock, it did not seem very secure. For the... More

We were met at the train station by a helpful member of staff . At the reception we wanted to pay by credit card as we booked the hotel online using our credit card . The staff requested us to pay cash or payment by credit at a rate of 2.80 Solos to the USD dollar . As the going... More
