This was the one hotel of my trip to Peru that had me a bit concerned. I tried to imagine the worse so I would be pleasantly surprised. Well the good news is that it wasn't as bad as I imagined . Because I was a family of 5 and the cost to stay at the Inkaterra Machu Picchu and... more

We found Aguascalientes to be somewhat lacking compared to many of the beautiful Peruvian towns we passed through. There are few upmarket hotels commanding obscene premiums, and many hostel-type places catering to the legions of backpackers. We picked Rupa Wasi based on TripAdvisor, ignoring the horrible review it got in Fodor's. We were not disappointed. First off, it is definitely... more

The room was like a cabin in the woods. Enjoyed sitting on the little balcony. The room even had a little heater (the only hotel we stayed in in all of Peru that had a heater). Yes, it is a hike up some steps, but so is most of the town. The restaurant food was excellent. The 2 ladies running... more

After staying two nights in another hostel in Aguas Calientes, which cost a lot less and worked fine, I was reluctant to go but we'd already paid. The stairs aren't the most fun I'll ever have but unless you're really unfit you can manage. I was injured so I didn't like it but I could do it. The breakfast was... more

Very cool hotel, everything was great except for two problems. 1. My friend and I were ending the evening on the balcony and a hotel staff member (the owner possibly) was using very loud power tools on the stairwell well beyond the sunset. It appeared to be a power sander sanding the wooden starwell handrails. It was very loud and... more

We loved it! Our room faced the back of the mountain of Machupicchu! The view in the evening amongst the stars was captivating! The location was close to the center of town and the bus & train station. The hike up to Rupa Wasi was inclined, but not unbearable, if you are somewhat physically fit. It's not the grade, but... more

I saw some comments with a fair to poor review, especially talking about location. In my opinion, this hotel is excellent, because you feel like you are in the middle of nature. Yes, you have to climb some stairs to get there....that what makes it unique. The service and food is excellent as well. However, if you are the type... more

We decided to stay at this hotel because I liked the "tree house" concept. However, the hike up to the hotel was INSANE.... way too many steps and after hiking, the last thing you want to do is continue to hike just to go to bed... More importantly, I didnt really feel "safe." Most of the windows do NOT have... more

My wife and I stayed here one night. We didn't eat dinner or lunch here, but did have the breakfast, which was available at 5:00AM and was good. This place is not your usual hotel, so it will appeal greatly to some and not at all to others. If you prefer a traditional hotel, you should look elsewhere. If you're... more

We found the Rupa Wasi here on Tripadvisor and decided to book it due to the good rating. We felt the price was high but went for it anyways due to the good reviews. Rupa Wasi did not live up to mine and my friend's expectations. Service - The lady in the front desk was nice, but there is also... more
