We weren't looking to spend a lot in Aguas Calientes since we'd only be resting overnight. Rupa Wasi had a great price and a comfortable bed. We were on the ground floor in room #1 so we made sure to go to bed with ear plugs. The guests above us had heavy feet and a much earlier wake up call... More

I was having trouble finding a midrange hotel in Agua Calientes. There are not a lot of choices. There are either some really expensive places or a lot of backpacker type hostels. We ended up with Rupa Wasi and our stay had a few very minor hiccups but mostly worked fine. It is a little overpriced for what it is,... More

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. We loved Mariel, Vernonica, and Deanna. Truly felt like family. I loved my room literally in the trees with a huge window full of Putucusi and the star-filled sky. The restaurant was equally wonderful and it was great to walk across the path to the restaurant. Although we had to share... More

We were met at the train by a staff member to take us to the lodge, which was nice. When we arrived at the room, there were hairs on the sheets so we asked it to be changed. We also had to ask for hairdryer. Front desk staff spoke limited English, but fortunately my friend spoke Spanish, which was a... More

I was met at the train station as promised and brought to the hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. All the ticketing arrangements were fine and everything went smoothly. I didn't even have the hot water issues that some encountered. My room, #5, had a nice view but was somewhat spartan. The hotel is fairly expensive for what you... More

First the good. The hotel is well located, is smaller and very personal, on a quiet backstreet amongst the trees but very close to main square, train station, bus to MP and to many restaurants. Yes there are several flights of stairs leading up to hotel from the street but that should not be a problem for anyone hiking around... More

The good news... This little hotel is tucked away around the back of Aguas Calientes so it makes for a peaceful sleep as you listen to the sound of the river thundering by. The staff are very friendly, and Juvemal does an excellent job keeping the rooms clean and meeting you at the train station and carrying your suitcase up... More

It's hard to express just how good the service was at Rupa Wasi, and how much we appreciated it. In the afternoon of our day at Machu Picchu, my wife started feeling unwell. We were supposed to leave on the 5pm train, but by the time we were coming down the mountain she was vomiting. We had already checked out... More

#3 had a great balcony with a view of the mountains - could even see some of Machu Picchu's terraces :).The comfortable bed and hot shower was like heaven after the Inca trail. Free breakfast was great. The stairs really aren't a big deal - definitely worth it. Rupa wasi is like a little oasis as Aguas Calientes is quite... More

After finishing the Inca Trail, we were looking for a nice, hot shower. Unfortunately, Rupa Wasi didn't provide one. The water goes from scalding hot to ice cold in seconds. In order to get the hot water to return, you have to get out of the shower and try running the faucet wide open on hot. However, sometimes this didn't... More
