I have lived in Huaraz for 6 months now, and I heard tons of amazing stories from travelers coming down out of the mountains raving about this oasis of a lodge above Yungay. I decided to set aside a weekend during the low season and go check it out. It is a bit difficult to get there if you don't... More

Here is somewhere very special: it's a gem awaiting to be discovered even though many many people have stayed here and slept in the rarified air just below Huandoy (view from the unique roundhouse loo) and Huascaron (Moonrise and Moonshadow) ... The trick is following the instructions and finding out how to arrive ..... (by foot .... It's cheating to... More

Travelled for a month in Peru and saved the best until last - comfy beds, duvets, great food, cups of tea, amazing views, a range of hikes, welcoming and knowledgable host. Would definitely recommend. More

We camped at Llaganuco for about a week and really enjoyed our stay. This place is a great way to get away from all the distractions of the city or life back home. No internet and electricity is only on from 6-9PM via generator. The owner is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. There is excellent hiking and trekking... More

Besides Machu Picchu, this was the best part of our entire stay in Peru. The reason people travel to the Huaraz area is to experience the mountains and there is no better place to stay than the Llanganuco Lodge to do that. If you stay in Huaraz to acclimate and do day hikes you will waste many hours in back... More

Llanganuco Lodge is a truly beautifully situated mountain lodge at the base of the Huascaran mountain range in the Cordillera Blancas. The lodge has a dorm room and ensuite rooms. The food is outstanding - the owner has worked a few European ski seasons and knows how to keep customers from being hungry! Guests all eat at a communal table... More

the lodge is really pretty with breathtaking views of the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra, the lodge is right between the Huascaran and Huandoy snow-capped mountains. All the rooms (from the dorm to the suites) have great views of the surrounding landscape. Charlie Good, makes honor to his last name because he is a very GOOD host! From the lodge... More

We spoke to a few folk in Huaraz about the various lodges around and heard that you could easily undertake several different day treks fron Llanganuco Lodge, so after checking it out a bit on here, we booked for four days. Giving ourselves loads of time to get there, we left Huaraz early morning, but to our surprise the journey... More

Llanganuco Lodge, run by the very friendly Charlie Good, is so far (an by far) the best place we know to stay when visiting the Huascaran mountains. There are numerous trecking variants that start directly from the lodge without the need for transportation by taxi etc. Prices are very flexible and only depending on your specific needs of comfort. Everything... More

I was traveling abroad and had a last minute change in plans. By some miracle I ran into Mike, lodge manager, and we got to talking. Shortly after we spoke it was apparent that I needed to see this place. BEST decision ever! It was as if this place had been waiting for me all along. Great people all around.... More
