We read several reviews about Hippo Hostel before booking it proclaiming it to be very trendy and cool so we were expecting good things. Stayed here two nights mid-sept 09'... Basically the end of the high season in Montenegro, we still had a BLAST. CHEAP supermarket literally 1 min walk across the st. 50Eurocent double beers, decent selection of foods etc. Nice Kitchen at the hostel, decent clean rooms, they were happy to provide a free towel, clean communal showers. Stayed here for 3nights in sept with my partner - had a private double room which was fine. Your standard hostel really with free internet - bathroom a bit scummy. The hostel has nice gardens they put on 2 BBQ's when we were there which is great for getting everyone together and for cooking you supper cheaply - great butchers... more

This is one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in. The staff are extremely helpful and the hostel is kept clean. Cereal and juice are provided for breakfast, there is a TV room and internet use is free. more
