We stayed one night on our way on a tour to Anuradhapura and Mihintale. The Resthouse is located in the old town, but is very close to all the ruins. Through a tiny back gate you could access the lake - Tissa Wewa, which is more like a sea! An ealy morning walk is very plesant, but beware of lone men who may try to talk or accost women walkers.
The rooms and toilets are basic and an occassional toad or cockeroach is to be expected. In the evenings there are tiny flying insects which commit suicide everywhere due to crash landing into the light bulbs!
The food is good - specially Sri Lankan. The waiters are very obliging and even caught a roach who had entered our room!
It also has a pool.
