The best hotel I have ever stayed in. Marked by Sri Lanka's very own supreme hospitality, Kandalama gives you the best staying experience. The ambiance and the scenic beauty captures everyone's heart, mind and soul. more

My husband and I stayed at the Kandalama as part of a Sri Lankan Cultural tour on our honeymoon and we had no idea where we were staying.... what a wonderful surprise. We still talk about some of the best food we have ever had - the cashew curry.... and the whole experience was absolutely and we will definitely go... more

The hotel is set in the jungle on a lake, it appears that the hotel was built into a giant boulder. Great food, lovely pool but it is located off the beaten path. Drink prices are very high but this is a quality establishment. worth a visit. more

What can you say about this hotel? A cross between Stansted airport, a conference centre, and a giant cafeteria. Stunning position, great staff, good food but lacking soul. Stay there and you'll have a good time...but then you'll know what we mean!! more

This Eco-hotel is located right among the wildlife in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. The architecture is unique, the staff is helpful and polite and the dinner buffet is rich in selection and quality. The pool, seamlessly overlooking the lake in the area and the Lion Rock of Sigirya in the background, is a reason itself to visit the hotel I think. more

It was unexpected surprise. Amazing place in the middle of a jungle. Full of monkeys and sqiurrels. The stuff is so friendly...smiling all the time and trying their best to please you. Complete peace and serenity. The food is awesome, especially the steak in lunch - the best thing I've ever tried :) Funny thing is taking a shower or... more

Not cheap by any standards but this has to be the ultimate in getting awayfrom it all and spoiling yourselves rotten, the location is beyond words, the rooms are gorgeous and getting woken up by monkeys on your balcony is a treat. Wonderful wonderful wonderful more

Our second stop on 2 week trip and base for our trek around the cultural triangle. Stayed 2 nights. Room was a decent size although a little dark. It appears the hotel had a refurb but the common areas still seem a bit old and kitsch. The bathroom was a little old and there was a lack of towels however... more

If you are in Sri Lanka then make a point of staying in this hotel - it is fabulous. The rooms are very tasteful and comfortable but the bathroom is the seller - you get to bubble in a huge double jacuzzi bath with a massive glass wall looking out over the jungle, the lake and the mountains with monkeys... more
