We stayed in this hotel for just one night and it is ok for an overnight trip. Rooms are compact, but clean and everything you need for a stopover. However, there was no hot water (in our bathroom) and all the rooms appear to be located underneath the kitchens, so the banging and clanking seems to go on throughout the... more

Stayed 2 nights out of season so hotel was virtually empty. Room was spotless and the views were good especially of the monkeys in the evenings. However the food was the worst of the 13 night trip and the staff were totally disinterested. more

We were introduced to this Hotel by our tour company [--XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@XXXXX.com) and they said we would not regret staying there. They were right, the view from the room was excellent, the staff were friendly and service was good, the rooms as well as the pool were quite clean. The food though not excellent, was better than average compared to what... more

We only stayed here for one night as part of a tour, but we were very impressed from start to finish. Rooms very light, clean and cool with nice views overlooking the hills. The swimming pool looked clean but we never had a chance to use it. I cannot imagine it getting much sun though. The restaurant was very nice,... more

It sits high on a hill overlooking the lake and town of Kandy. Reception staff awere very welcoming and we were shown to our room which didn't disappoint. Comfi double bed,... more

We stayed one night at the hotel. The location overlooking the city is quite nice and the staff were excellent. The property was clean but we encountered a few problems. The room we were booked in to had a very strong odor of cleaning fluid and the shower did not work. The front desk knew about the shower problem and... more

Serene Garden Hotel is an ideal base to visit many adventurous and historical sites such as centuries old Buddhist temples, the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala, Victoria, Randenigala reservoirs, historic Mahiyangana and of course the popular Knuckles Range. The hotel was opened in mid March and I stayed there twice (April & June 2008). You enter the hotel (6 stories) reception... more
