On our Taxi Driver's recommendation we spent a half day and the night at this beautiful location on the South Coast.

This was the only place in Sri Lanka we stayed where you could wander along a pretty well deserted beach without the hassle of beach sellers or touts. Although beach sellers have never been a major problem for us, we were able to fully appreciate the magnificent scenery of a Sri Lankan beach with the white sand set against a green background.

The Cabanas themselves looked Disney-esque and quaint, round wooden huts surrounded by grass. Nicely scattered around the complex and never too close to your neighbours, it was lovely to sit out on the veranda and take in the evening tranquility. Inside, the Cabanas did not quite live up to the setting. Although reasonably spacious and complete with Aircon, they were a little bit basic and lacking in any special features or charm. We also had the unusual sight of dirty towels in our shower room.
