I had had a difficult year and wanted to get away from it all. I contacted a friend who knew of a boutique hotel on the Isla Colon, called Bocas del Toro. I was looking for an adventure, a trip that would recharge my batteries and refresh my mind, body and spirit. I contacted via email the hotel and began discussing... more

In this centrally located hotel right on top of the water, created of 9 different exotic hardwoods, you´ll feel like you are living on a wooden boat, minus the seasickness, with just about every necessity one could possibly think of. For an incredibly reasonable price, starting at $145.00 a night, you can have a room with a balcony from which... more

We decided to visit Bocas on a whim, so we stumbled off the boat into the Hotel Bocas Del Toro without a reservation. We were greeted by a smiling front desk clerk who was able to accommodate us. The room was simple and clean. The shower had hot water (the water service in Bocas Del Toro is a bit dicey),... more

The best customer service and staff quality I have experienced in latin america so far. The owner Carla is both friendly and very professional, this is by far the best run hotel in Panama. My room was faceing the street which was great for enjoying the great people of Panama. My room was kept very clean and the people I... more

Perhaps chronologically.. day 1 - $145/nite in Bocas? Not even a bottled water to go with it? day 2 - awoke to construction on the wall adjacent to our room and two men crawling over the railing to our balcony. Apparently installing security cameras was a high priority item at 8:30am. day 3 - no running water for several hours,... more

We stayed at the Hotel Bocas del Toro for our honeymoon in March and were very impressed with their cleanliness and service. When we arrived we were surprised by a bottle of chilled champagne and a note from management congatulating us and wishing us a wonderful stay. Bocas was our favorite place of all our stops on our 19 day... more

As other reviewers note, this is the most charming of the Bocas Town waterfront options. Some rooms (e.g. our #5) have spectacular water/island views from pleasant balconies. Rooms are well furnished. Pleasant, efficient staff and management. Bar makes a mean caipirinha, and sitting out with it on the over-the-water deck it is very satisfying. Central location, walk to everything, including... more

After a few trips to the archipelago, I stayed with a friend at Hotel Bocas del Toro for the second time. After staying at different hotels throughout the island town, I can accurately say it is one of the cleanest and most comfortable in Bocas Town. The hotel's location on the water allowed us to be in the heart of... more

I was a bit disapointed in this hotel and the town. The rooms were small, no ammenities at all. We got a piece of very small soap and had to ask for more toilet paper. After we left each day, they would turn off our A/C so it was hot as hell when we came back. The hotel staff was... more

Management response from
Wold, Director

Hotel Bocas del Toro acknowledges the comments made by the guest who was kind enough to visit to our hotel one year ago, in October 2007. We recognize that a year or two ago, our rooms were quite minimalistic in their décor and amenities. However, the good news is that we have implemented a substantial upgrade of all our rooms,...
