I recently spent six days at Tesoro Escondido, and loved it. I had a super-cool, large upstairs room with a balcony featuring a grand view of the sea. As a surfer, I appreciated the loads of hanging and shelf space available in my room. The icing on the cake was a fabulous whole-wall mural of a huge wave. Awesome place!... more

We spent four days at Tesoro Escondido recently and had a wonderful experience. Whilst the lodge is only about 5 km out of town, the muddy roads do make it difficult to get to which means that the area has a wonderful remote feel to it and doesn't feel inundated with travellers! This might change when they finish sealing the... more

I found this place a natural delight and an excellent place to totally get away from it all. My personal highlight was simply reading a book in the hammock and eating dark chocolate while listening to the waves. The hostess of Tesoro Escondido is Monique, along with her friendly staff. Monique was very gracious and I could have sat there... more

This is a great place for relaxation, great food, and proximity to Bluff Beach, stunning views, affordable comfort, including remoteness from the town and close to great surf! Tesoro Escondido exemplifies the 3 R’s, reduce, reuse and recycle. Our cabina showcased a beautiful chandelier made from recyclables, walls made from cut bottles, to beautiful mosaic tables, to the coconut serving... more

I don't know where to start! Monica was an amazing generous hostess- she took care to make sure our stay was relaxing and comfortable, entertained us with stories about Bocas and her very interesting life, and cooked us several amazing meals! She is incredibly knowlegable about the island(s), and Bocas town. She picked us up from the airport for a... more

Tesoro Escondido is located a blissful 4 miles away from the busy and dusty town of Bocas, That is definitely a plus. Also a plus was that when we needed to go to town, the road is right there, and so is transport. Although some taxis would like to charge you a lot ($20 plus), our stay coincided with the... more

My son and I each had a cabina; I stayed in the Dolphin and he stayed in the Turtle. Both were worthy of raves; mine had a view of the cove where the waves crashed against the cliff and his was perched almost on top of the water. Both were very comfortable; I'll just talk about mine since I was... more

This was, by far, the best place my boyfriend and I stayed during our vacation to Panama. Monique, Dorothy, and Seraphin were welcoming and hospitable from the outset. I had exchanged a few e-mails with Monique during the process of reserving our accommodations and she was very friendly and helpful. Tesoro Escondido IS off the beaten path and transportation isn't... more

Experience at Tesoro was amazing in one word. Monique, the owner was not going to be there during our stay and was nice enough to upgrade us to the dolphin cabina (GREAT SERVICE even BEFORE we got there). Her emails were speedy and she was very attentive even via cyber space. Even though we were iffy about our arrival time... more

We stayed at the Dolphin Cabina and it was absolutely wonderful. We were the only guests at the time so we got the whole place to ourselves. Monique (the owner) , Dorthea, and Serafin were all incredibly charming and friendly. The dogs wereexcellent (optional) companions for our nature walks---although they probably reduced our chances of seeing any monkeys. The beaches... more
