My friend and I spent an absolutely amazing time as this fabulous, local hotel! It's right at the beach, on an island 2 minutes by boat from crazy Bocas, where one can party all night long. Dona Mara is a Rudimentary 1 story cell block. 6 Very small and basic rooms in a horseshoe shaped building. Loud dance hall Reggae music supplied by neighbors until 5 A.M. almost every morning free of charge, and if the wind is blowing right, a fantastic open air sewer smell right in your room. The staff was really nice, and the views and tiny beach are very pleasant. BUT, our room wasn't great. It was small and felt like a musty city hotel. We just returned from a 4 day get away at the lovely Dona Mara. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.. the managers..the sweetest couple who were ready with suggestions to enhance our stay.
