We stayed at Palmar for three nights in April. The setting is beautiful and overall the area is well set up. Was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness though. The bathrooms were clean and tidy but the common area wasn't. The tent (private safari) was good, but not quite as large as I had expected (you can't walk around in... More

There's no way to describe what a treasure this place is! Kristin, Chris, Kat, the volunteers, everyone was so helpful and we enjoyed getting to know them all. People coming over to Red Frog Beach from Islas Bastimentos and Colon all commented on how they wish they had stayed at Palmar. From our tent with a double bed to the... More

Some friendly feedback to the management. My wife and I visited your Redfrog Beach establishment last week. A beautiful setting, great location and seemingly paradise. We were not guests, we were told by “Bocas Bound” that there were no other places to stay in the area. As tourists out for the day, walking along the beach we found you. With... More

I was here with three girlfriends and had a great time. When we arrived the tent was ready for us except for the fourth bed that we had asked for. I appreciated the foot wash bowl that was useful in decreasing the amount of sand in the cabin. It would have been great to know that we needed to bring... More

Beach front property with your own water access- clean, well maintained accommodations, and just a generally awesome place. You can tell Kristen and Chris must have done a lot of research to figure out how to create this place in the middle of a jungle on the beach, but they did it and it's amazing. The staff and the volunteers... More

We stayed 3 nights at the lodge and could not have enjoyed it more. The tents were comfy with real beds and it stayed cool at night with provided fans. The shared restrooms were always clean, and the shower offered an enjoyable refreshing way to rinse the sandy day away! The staff/volunteers were very accommodating and helpful and shared in... More

The tents do not look like the pictures on the web site. Our "luxury tent" was very moldy to the point of nausea and dirty beyond belief. The staff seemed uninterested in the needs of the guests. Each time we would ask a question they would respond with an I don't know, come back later and ask so and so.... More

We are sorry if your tent had some mildew and wish that you had come and spoken with us about your dissatisfaction during your stay, we probably could have swapped the tent out for you right away. We keep an eye on which tents need to be washed and change them out as soon as possible in the small time... More

I was part of a retreat with iRETREAT that took place at Palmar Tent Lodge and must say that it was an incredible experience. You MUST know a few things before you go - let go of your inhibitions and trust yourself to live simply. Hot water comes from the sun, electricity comes from the sun and you will be... More

It's not often that a place is better than the pictures on its website, but that is certainly the case with Palmar Tent Lodge. We came as a school group, and the owners and staff were nothing but friendly, caring and helpful to us all. The lodge itself is right on the beach but the tents are in the jungle,... More

Ok....so for $50 dollars a night and the location it was a steal. Palmar tent lodge is located directly on the beach...and the beach is quite beautiful and clean. However this place could be so much better and dont get me wrong I understand there is no running water and it is in the jungle but that kitchen was bad...it... More

Thanks for your review and for your suggestions. I am writing one response for the two back to back reviews from guests who stayed during the same period that had similar complaints. We are genuinely sorry about the kitchen—with our recent addition of more tents our occupancy simply exceeded what the kitchen could handle. Too little space coupled with the... More
