This is an oasis of calm in a beautiful setting. Fantastic food, a gorgeous old house - we stayed in the newer quarters, but enjoyed spending time in the rooms in the old house - and a lovely ambience. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone, especially first-time visitors to India. more

It is such a shame that this potentially lovely hotel is ruined by the screeching droning never-ending noise coming from the main road. The Green is an amazing place. We spent a weekend there in July, soon after we first arrived in India. We stayed in the Writers' Room, one of the smaller rooms in the main palace building. This was our first hotel in India...and a good first start. After arriving from a long travel journey at 10pm we were cranky hungry travelers. We were travelling out of season so just turned up & were able to negotiate 20% reduction which made this better value, but still comparatively expensive.
