This is a very elegant old building situated on the hillside above the town, about a 20 minute walk from the centre (and uphill all the way back!). The room was pleasant and reasonably large but very cold and damp, with only a 1 Kw fan heater which had little effect even when left on continuously. To get warm, we... more

First of all I question Tripadvisors wisdom to put this hotel under this heading & not under "hotels". This place and I have just jelled over the last several years.Whenever we visit Darjiling , which is quite frequently , we stay here. It is like coming home.Service is excellent--both front desk & others.Good clean comfortable rooms. And what a view!... more

At Darjeeling, We stayed at Hotel Cedar Inn. Hotel Cedar inn is on top of the hills, 15 mins walk from St. Pauls school (of SRK’s “Main Hoon Na” fame). We stayed in the cottage, which has two levels, the bed on one and the tv area. It was tough making sure our 2-year old doesn’t fall off the steps.... more

The Cedar Inn offers the most splendid perch in the Darjeeling Hills. Its pleasing quasi-colonial architecture, wood-lined interiors, small but beautiful gardens (even indoors !) and excellent service makes it a complete package. And the view from ALL the rooms is amazing ! We had earlier seen the web-site for Cedar Inn and it looked really good. However being told... more

Cedar Inn is located right on top of Darjeeling and offers a splendid view of Kanchendzonga (obviously only on a clear day) right from the room. The room where we stayed was clean and neat with all amenities. They also had a fireplace but the hotel management would not light it for us since they claimed that the city council... more

During our stay, the night time temperature went well below freezing. However, on arrival after a day's travelling, there was no hot water for showers. We were told that hot water was provided for only two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening. Electricity to guest rooms was switched off at 9.30 each morning. The provision of... more

The Cedar Inn is a good base for exploring Darjeeling. We got a deal for £51 for half board, which seems a bit steep but was worth it as it is situated up a hill so once you come back for the evening you don't feel like going out again, plus the food was really tasty and filling. We went in... more

Stayed at the ‘Cedar Inn’ Darjeeling for 6 nights in March 2005. TRAVEL TO DARJEELING Would recommend arranging transport through the hotel from Bagdogra airport or Siliguri, as you need an experienced mountain driver for the 7500ft climb to Darjeeling. It is more expensive but you can relax for the journey ahead. LOCATION Cedar Inn is located near the top... more
