A beautifully decorated room (Tantrayana) with lots of lamps, artwork and lovely bedding. The hotel feels calm and peaceful as soon as you walk in with low lighting and incense burning. After a long flight it was just what we needed. It is quite tucked away but really near to a metro station so we found the location good. There... more

Regrettably my stay was not what I had hoped for based on other reviews here and the photos on the Bodhi Tree's website. Plus points: - Location - I was afraid to be a little far from things but I actually enjoyed the location: easy access to and from main tourist spots with the metro, colourful residential area giving good... more

Bodhi Tree is a nice place to stay and good value. We had one night in Mahayana Guestroom which was stylish but tiny and hard bed. Then two nights in Vajrayana Guestroom which was a much better size and more comfortable bed but plainer decor. Only complaint is location is not ideal. It is the wrong side of town for... more

This place was awesome! The proximity to the metro, the friendliness of the staff, and the comfort of the rooms! It was truly a highlight of the stay in Kolkata. Close to Bay of Bengal which was really yummy Bengali food more

Stayed for total of 6 nights over a two week period. Friendly service (especially the charming Kumar). Excellent location a few minutes walk from the Metro. Wifi available, but connection was sporadic during my stay. Overbooking led to having to spend one night in the Yogacara room which was rather small compared to the Kalachakra which i had booked, but... more

Excellent small hotel with great atmosphere. Very helpful staff even when we arrived at 2.00 am. Have stayed in two different rooms and found them both comfortable, stylish and fully functional. No problem plumbing smells either. The hotel is a five minute walk to the metro station on a quiet(ish) street. The Bodhi Tree is small, quirky and friendly with... more

We stayed at the Bodhi Tree on arrival at Kolkata for one night. The hotel efficiently arranged our pick up from the airport (very strongly recommended, especially after dark) and booked us in efficiently. Style: it's a boutique hotel, and our room was nicely styled in a minimalist Buddhist theme. Not much storage space, but a good shower. The room... more

hi all, haven't done this before but feel that the good work of Devdan and his team at the bohdi tree guesthouse deserve some exposure. My girlfriend and I stayed there for several days earlier this year and recommend it highly. We've now stayed in several other places in Kolkata (the bohdi tree was full - book early!) and none... more

Stayed here for a couple of nights after finding it online. It's very nice-- a bit more spendy than your average Indian guesthouse, but overall good value for the money and certainly cheaper than a hotel. They provide a good breakfast and wifi for those who are interested. The only downside is that I found a couple of the staff... more

Hi , We thank the guest for his positive review . We also thank him for letting us know that some of our staff may have been too ' keen' to get a tip . We will take the necessary actions , so that none of our guests feel any pressure of tipping . We would also like to say...
