We just got home from 5 nights at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, AL. We were a little disappointed in the park itself. We had called ahead to talk to them & make a reservation. We were told they couldn't guarantee a specific campsite but we'd be able to pick our spot when we arrived. However, when we arrived they had assigned a spot to us & it wasn't a good one. We were excited to have found a place with so much for the kids to do & our 9 year old was really excited about the ice skating rink. However, the ice skating rink was closed for maintenance during our entire stay. It would have been nice if they had notified us when making a reservation. My teenagers went to the recreation center Saturday when we arrived & was told it would be open on Sunday but then was told on Sunday by a security guard it wouldn't be open at all Sunday. We also noticed the Chapel alsp had a gate across the entrance during the entire stay w/ the exception of Saturday. All the activities... more
