Fantastic location (right across from a park with a great view of Mobile bay), good price. The owners are nice. The exterior is ugly and dated, but our room was clean and nice. Good restaurants right down the road (within walking distance)

We stayed here during the summer. $100/night and it was total dump. I mean, so bad you feel gross from just walking into the room. This hotel was too expensive for what it actually offered. The only good thing about it was location - right across the road from the beach. Otherwise, it smelled musty, had tiny beds, felt old, and they charged me $10 extra for a 3rd person in a room with two double beds. Not impressed. Will never go back.

The customer service here is terrible. The front desk woman is inflexible and not willing to help in a difficult situation. If you don't mind outside entry rooms with suspicious people in the parking lot and rude service then you will feel welcomed here. Don't let the outside deter you as Barons has recently been purchased within just the past year by a quaint family-oriented clan and is being lovingly rennovated to this day.
