A small, but very well maintained, historic house which is situated right on the Melaka River in the heart of old Melaka. Excellent breakfasts in the cafe/shop so that you are surrounded by lovely artefacts from the region while you eat. In addition to it being a wonderful setting, our hosts, Bernard and Liz, were extremely helpful with suggestions and... more

We staid at the Heeren House for 2 nights. The location is just great. Right in the middle of the old town and really close to the bus stop. Right next door is a great restaurant, Harper's. The guesthouse is furthermore very charming and really fits well with the old town. The down side is that it's pretty noisy. We... more

We stayed for 3 nights with 3 other friends. The owners are really friendly and make you feel at home. Nice breakfast - proper tea! - served with a smile. The guest house is just on the edge of China town overlooking the river, so you're cloes to the action without the noise. The building is a traditional dutch style... more

Hereen House is the way a guesthouse should be. It has charming old rooms with plenty of character, very friendly owners, great cooked breakfasts and very reasonable rates plus the added bonus is that it is right in the centre of the old town - overlooking the river. The rooms are small but pleasant with beautiful hardwood floorboards and our... more

A small and cosy guest house with beautiful rooms and decor. Staff - lovely, very helpful and keen to assist, minded our bags for the entire day, english/malaysian joint ownership. Room - major disadvantage was no fridge and limited channels on tv (no cable). Breakfast - brillant, so tasty, full english breakfast. Restaurant - afternoon tea/lunch = amazing, do try... more

Small boutique hotel, run by Bernard and Liz Tan. Very friendly hosts good accommodation. Dining room open only for breakfast but the latter was quite satisfactory and more than sufficient. Due to popularity we had left our bookings until almost too late and could not secure one of the better rooms but the 2 rooms that we occupied during our... more

Heeren House is a very quaint little Guest House in the heart of Malacca and right on the bank of the river. The owners Liz and Bernard are a very welcoming couple and made our stay very enjoyable. The Guest House only has 6 rooms each different but all comfortable and clean. Our room was a twin as no doubles... more

Heeren House, Malacca, Malaysia Night photo is from room Number Two. Large room, clean, canopy bed, Western breakfast so big you don’t need lunch, excellent service, Liz & Bernard own and operate it during the day. But their night man’s advice made our trip. He’s a wise man with one eye who could star in any blockbuster adventure movie. He... more

The best thing about this place is its location. Right next to the river, it is right between Jonkers on one side and the historic sites (Stadhuys etc) on another. The room, although basic, is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was alright ... the standard fare that you'll find in most B&B. Parking (public) is available behind the B&B. If you... more
