We loved our time here. The staff and local villagers were beautiful happy friendly people. The staff made our stay such a memorable one. They couldn't do enough for us. Waisalima Resort is on Kadavu Island. Kadavu is a beautiful rugged mountainous Fijian island about 90 kilometres south of the main island. We flew down from Nadi and were collected... More

I visited this location on my last anniversary. The location is absolutely breath taking and was exactly what we had been looking for. This is a true piece of tropical paradise! We could literally walk from the bungalow to the beach and jump right in. And the food was amazing, I always love eating food from different countries. For the... More

The resort, which has simple facilities was lovely in terms of location. It's very secluded and out of the way and although not what I'd normally expect of a "resort", it was more of a traditional, cultural experience where we could interact with the local Fijians, enjoy the beautiful beaches, collect shells and watch the sunrises and sunsets which are... It is very interesting to have just read the review entitled "disappointing" as this review echoes the experience we have just had at Waisalima. We booked based on the resort's location, being the closest to the Astrolabe Reef which we wished to dive, and the impressive looking website, which promised a luxurious location with great facilities. Unfortunately we were rather... More

I'm not sure you read our website correctly prior to booking and it certainly does not state anywhere "a luxurious location with great facilities". In regards to your mention of pricing, in comparison, to stay at a backpackers hostel in Fiji in a Standard Bure w/ shared facilities costs around the $95 AUD per person per night mark at other... I actually stayed in June '11, just forgot to review until now and the website won't let me change the date. I was really disapointed with the resort when I was there: I was a solo traveller and at no point (even though I booked by phone) was I told I was THE ONLY GUEST! The staff were nice but... More

Thank you for your comments and the resort is designed as a place to go diving from and it's not the type of place for night life which seems to have been what you were after as a single and if this was the case then my apologies if you believe our website misled you or states anything other than... As our Princess cruise got closer to the secluded island of Dravuni we learned from a crew member that Waisalima Dive Centre may be able to arrange a dive tour of the Astrolabe reef. A mere 24 hours prior to our arrival, we emailed Wasalima and they arranged to pick us (a group of 4 divers) up at the tender... More

As regular visitors to Kadavu, we always choose to come back to Waisalima. Waisalima has become our escape from the reality of everyday life and an outlet to kick back and enjoy what nature has to offer. We have been fortunate enough to visit Waisalima during different months of the year and experience all different weather and needless to say... More

A 50 minute flight from Nadi on a small plane. Good views of the reefs on landing. About an hour trip in a small open boat along the coast to the resort. This was bumpy and wet when it rained on the way back. (even though we had rain coats we were sopping wet) The resort is a row of... More

We stayed at Waisalima for five days during our honeymoon in July 2011. We arrived on Kadavu and waited close to two hours for someone from the resort to come and pick us up, the airport was actually closing up and they were waiting for us to leave! After the bumpy boat ride (which couldn't be helped, the boatman was... More

These guests stayed for all nights they paid for (4 actually, not 5), they received all the services, did all the dives they'd paid for and received all meals and their return boat transfers. Why should they be given a refund? They could have left at any stage and been provided with a refund for the nights not stayed and... More
