Excellent service, beautiful rooms, great breakfest, and everything 40-60 floors over Shanghai. Also very good location in the very city centre. And very friendly staff... more

The good bit is the location which is very convenient for downtown Shanghai. This hotel is NOT however up to the standard I would expect of a JW Marriott at all. The rooms are cramped but otherwise adequate. Service is generally not good at all. The JW grill appeared to be run by a bunch of disorganised teenagers and the... more

I was very disappointed from Marriot. Maybe I was expecting too much?? True: the location is very good, near People's Square. True: the building is nice and the view is amazing. BUT: the rooms are very small. The breakfast buffet is quite poor. AND it is really really expensive!! We also had to discuss for a loooong time to have... more

I just finished my 6th stay at the JW Marriott in Shanghai and I am impressed by the constant level of service. Location (38th up to 59th floor of a skyscraper) is great. Rooms are spacious, clean and nice. They just replaced the small old televisions by giant flat screens. Nice. Internet is fast and reliable and food is good.... more

We stayed at the JW Marriott in November. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The lobby smells like fresh flowers and the rooms are beautiful and extremely clean. Upon arrival, we were offered a suite upgrade which was wonderful! I will defintely stay at this hotel the next time I travel to Shanghai. Also...the location is great. Just a... more

this is not a review of the hotel, but it's extended service, the mandara spa yes, it is pricey. yes, it is a beautiful setting. and YES, they allow their technicians to work when sick. this is unacceptable. it ruined a 21 day vacation for me. i had a head cold that only got worse as i continued traveling. "fiona",... more

Two words, “Awesome View”. Given the amount of high rise buildings in Shanghai, the location of this tower had 360 degrees of unobstructed view of the city. Lobby starts on 38th floor and the rooms goes up to 60th floor. The room was typical Marriott sized and nicely furnished. Because of extensive food choices around Shanghai, we did not use... more

We had a great stay - the hotel is very convenient to the subway, which was ideal for us to get around the city quickly. Concierge lounge was good - breakfast included congee, dumplings, selection of pastries, a couple hot dishes, cereals, fruit etc. It doesn't seem like a lot when you look around the room, but there is actually... more

Stayed at the hotel for one evening - a Saturday evening - excellent rate. Had not visited shanghai before. simple to get to from the Airport. MagLev train (at 431 KM/hr) to the Metro station - Green Line - several stops to People's Square (4 RMB fare.) Exit the station at Exit #11 (there are close to 20 exits!) and... more
