The Miramar was booked for us by a friend living nearby, and for a three-bedroom apartment, the price was reasonable. Despite the occasional language difficulty, the staff was responsive, and the rooms were modern, neat, and clean. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our only dissatisfactions were that the hotel was a bit far from the central business/shopping/entertainment districts (but taxis are plentiful), and that the beds were extra firm, almost hard. When we had to extend our stay in Shanghai a couple of nights, we were satisfied enough that we tried to stay longer, but they were fully booked. If I want a hotel away from the bustle the next time I visit Shanghai, this hotel will be in the running.
