The Hotel Pacande was quite small and quante, but very good for the value. The rooms were nice and the breakfast was very small but fresh and delightful under the sun. Very good for a one night stay before going the the airport. more

My fiance and I stayed here for 1 night upon our arrival into Costa Rica. The hotel itself was nice, small and quaint. The room was nice, but can hear neighbors like they are right in your room. Wonderful little family run hotel. Friendly helpful staff who go out of their way to welcome you and make your stay enjoyable. Have been visiting every April / May for as long as I can remember. After walking around Alajuela looking for a decent and reasonably priced room, we checked out Hotel Pacande and were pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside - it's sandwiched between a hostel and another hotel and has bars covering the windows and doors. for $35 (private bathroom with private bath), we could have had a better accomodation in the area. we didn't stay there very long. they did pay for our taxi. there is hot shower and fan. more
