Located near the airport in an authentic Costa Rican neighborhood, Maleku offers clean accommodations, family owned thus caring staff, shuttle service to airport and breakfast included, this is a worthy stepping stone for budget travelers. Note: they have tons of hand-me-down guide books available, so perhaps making this your first stop could be very helpful. More

It's simple - Clean, with hot water, fully equipped kitchen, supermarket, bank and bus station (for buses departing from Alajuela) within walking distance, free internet use, television, light breakfast in the morning, friendly and helpful staff... this place is definitely worth the overnight stays for those heading in or out of the country! Perfect , Maleku hostel is located 4 km from the airport and Alajuela is a small town compare to San Jose.....The hostel is nice, clean and well organize with a very nice kitchen area....around there there are banks, place where to eat and buses to go Noth....i really recommend this place.... More
