My husband and I stayed here before picking up and hire car and then the night before our flight home. As previous reviewers have said, Cinthya and 'Marta' make you feel at home. It's excellent value as breakfast is substantial. We visited the nearby Zoo Ave - bird zoo while we were there - a bit pricy but in a... more
Finally getting around to saying what a great stay we had at Jardin Tropical B & B in January. Cinthya was a pleasant and helpful hostess who introduced us to her two boys who delighted in trying their English out on us. Our room, though somewhat small, was very clean and tidy. The circulating fan overhead made for a pleasant... more
Spent the last two nights of a two month trip at Jardin Tropical...stayed in a LOT of different places, this was one of the best. Very clean including the bathrooms. The owner Cinthya could not have been more helpful. Her english skills are very good, which is very helpful for non spanish speaking gringos.Excellent breakfast menu. Very easy to find, centrally located... more
We stayed two nights at Jardin Tropical at the end of our Costa Rican vacation. Just 10 minutes from the airport, it is a convenient location, and within a short walk of Zoo Ave, a wildlife rehabilitation center which is definitely worth a visit. The bus line is a half block away. The B and B is in a safe... more
I was travelling alone but felt safe in this neighbourhood. I stayed for the last 3 nights of my trip. It is handy for the airport. The house is quiet and clean and bright and the hostess charming and helpful. It is walking distance to the zoo, a couple of interesting restaurants, and a big nursery where you can stroll... more
This is a good option if you are getting into or leaving the airport, or if you are REALLY into nurseries/garden stores. This neighborhood, La Garita, is fairly scenic with a couple of places to eat and lots of landscaping companies apparently. The B&B is seemingly on the quieter side, although the walls are paper thin between at least some... more
Thanks for your nice review, you say " you are REALLY into nurseries/garden stores", the B and B are around 10 minutes from the aiport an in a nurseries are, so not a lot of traffic like in down town in where you can here all can of noices of cars and people always, during the day and the night....
We had been traveling with our 18 month old daughter for over 5 weeks through central america and we were so relieved to find the convenience of Jardin Tropical. We stayed there twice during our trip (overall 5 nights). It is in a nice quiet location, safe for children (which was the main thing for us traveling as a family),... more
My wife, three year old son and two dogs arrived at Jardin Tropical four days ago. The first full day was stressful as we lost a bag that contained all of our identification, my wife's medication that she can not go for more than one day without, some jewelry, and a little cash. Cinthya, the owner, made many phone calls... more
Stayed at Jardin Tropical on our last night in Costa Rica. The reviews seem to point out that this is a place for people that need hand-holding and help in figuring out what to do. We didn't, and we feel the premium paid was not warranted. The host, Cinthya, was nice but not remarkably so and we did not really... more
