I stayed at La Cangreja Lodge with a group of students on an EF Tour to Costa Rica. It was great!!! The hotel is nice with clean rooms that are comfortable and have great windows with wonderful views. The amenities are pretty basic but the people who run it are wonderful!!! Our travel agent was unable to find anything else with availability in the Arenal area during the December peak so we were a bit nervous about staying here. Overall, it was okay.
