That this hotel considers itself a resort struck us as odd...it's not. You arrive Ocotal Beach Resort via a winding road and pas through three security checkpoints. My impression is mostly negative. When we arrived, the pools we full of leaves and/or crabs. It took 2 days and a pointed conversation to address this. The Ocotal consists of several buildings set on a hillside, all overlooking the ocean. Each building has it's own pool or hot tub, and there were 2 large pools and a large infinity pool on the property.
