After 10 days vacation throughout Costa Rica we chose Hotel Villa Flores because of its proximity to the Liberia airport, it's near the beach and it had a good review in "Lonely Planet."
Our room was off the main lobby facing the road. The AC unit rattled the old jalousie windows. Road was busy - dump trucks during the day and partiers walking by late at night. Room was small and had no TV, but there was a TV right outside in the lobby.
Bathroom was dark, musty, and the shower had some mildew.
The B & B's grounds were nice - pool area was large, nicely landscaped and clean.
The B & B employees were friendly and helpful.
For the price ($80) you can find a better place, but ask to see the available rooms; the others might be a little nicer.
Suggestion: the north end of Playas del Coco is better than the south end (less garbage and diesel fumes from the boats).
Go see Playa del Ocotal about 3 km to the south and you won't have any reason... more
