Spent 1 one week in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, and booked the stay for one night at Laguna Del Cocodrilo. I travelled alone so a bit cautious. I felt very safe at the hotel and was welcomed by the staff. We went on advise from Fodors and were pleased. Small & quaint. The front desk lady was very aimable. The room was small, but we did not spend much time in it. It's right off the main road and a direct path to the beach. more

This hotel was clean, but most of the rooms were right next to the restaurant, so it was loud at night. This hotel was also located at the far end of Tamarindo and didn't have a pool. more

Definitely don't stay in the suites- Room 11 or 12, the open air bar is directly below both rooms with speakers attached to the balconies. The chopping, plates & silverware and scooting stools noise starts at 6am in the bar area to accomodate the bakery and continues all day then really cranks up in the evening when the bar comes... more

We actually stayed at this hotel twice. It is very reasonably priced, no sales tax shock when you are about to check out. It is located right on the beach. We stayed at this lovely hotel week of Christmas 2006. It is location right on the beach at the beginning of Tamarindo Beach. Its right across from the Money Bar/Club and lots of other hotels and restaurants just down the road. There is a wonderful backyard our back which has a walk path that leads you right to the beach.... more
