Stayed here at start and end of 2 week holiday travelling around CR. The Condesa is a very large corporate type hotel located high above San Jose about 45 mins from the airport and away from any other facilities. It has beautiful grounds and is situated in a magnificent position. It has however nowhere to sit outside and its pool/spa is located at the back and undercover. The rooms are clean and well furnished but totally without character and most are located down long and drafty corridors. The main restaurant is in a vast covered in basement which when we were there was freezing. The bar area is also very cold in the evening and very drafty - they refuse to shut the main doors! Seating is limited. Breakfast is buffet and good, Meals can also be had around the bar (cold!) or in the speciality restaurant. In the latter our party was treated to quite the worst food I think I have had in any hotel in the world! We also had to wait 3/4 hour for it to start appearing. Do not be tempted... more
