Excellent lodge, way above average in Costa Rica. Mostly small casita's with two rooms in each. No high rise buildings. No airconditioning, but you won't need it. Great location for tours; too bad we did stay only one night. The hotel expects that you will stay for dinner. Your table will automatically be reserved. It is however not compulsary. Food... more

We only spent one night at La Quinta Sarapiqui and although it was definitely our most modest accommodations while in Costa Rica, the hotel had a warm, friendly atmosphere and an abundance of interesting wildlife to discover. Our daughters loved the butterfly garden and we had the opportunity to observe a few different species of dart frogs, the juvenile cayman... more

Nice and quiet, sorrounded by wildlife. Very clean. Terraces very original. Restaurant staff quite helfpul. Half board buffet not very varied neither abundant, if you are not eating at the very first time they run out of food and do not even refill it. Exceptional gardens, do not miss the insect collection-museum inside the hotel. Good free library about Costa... more

My extended family (me, my husband, our two kids ages 5 and 7, and my in-laws) stayed at La Quinta de Sarapiqui in February. When we first checked in, we weren't too sure if we would like it. It was much hotter and more humid than where we had been staying in Alajuela, but we found that it cools down... more

We did a tour of Costa Rica and this was one of my favourite hotels, an absolute gem. It was also a treat to dry out after Tortuguero! Really lovely rooms each with a porch complete with hammock and very peaceful. Ask for rooms away from reception as some people complained this area could be noisy on a morning. Absolutely... more

Our lodge was fine, it had a ventilator, small but clean bathroom and a safe. Breakfast was okay and hotel staff was very friendly. I can recommend having dinner in restaurants beside the road. More fun and much cheaper than hotels. But I had two concerns, one is the location. The neighbourhood had not very much to offer. We were... more

We paid $65/night for a double, and stayed one night Good: Great location, very Eco-lodgey. Lots of things to do at the hotel. Pool looked nice. Free coffee by the restuarant. Our room had a giant fan that worked really well, nice there is no AC. Bathroom seemed pretty clean. Bad: Our sheets were dirty, which we noticed when we... more

This hotel is supposed to give you nice rooms, good food and activities; however, they're not as good as they say (though they charge you that way). You can check different complaints about the rooms on other reviews and I can tell you, they're true. You can be charged a lot less for that kind of room in many other... more

The hotel is on the edge of tropical rainforest, with a large garden area at the rear where you can see native plants and wildlife. There are covered walkways between the blocks of rooms, with lush heliconias and other plants on both sides, all of which are labelled. The setting really is perfect, but unfortunately our stay here was spoilt... more

La Quinta was very nice. It had nature paths, butterfly gardens, frog areas, and was right next to a nice river. The pool was nice, and occupied by a very large lizard- or was when i was there. the staff was very nice and all spoke english. The room seemed secluded and private, they all have a patio with a... more
