We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Playa Chiquita and the attention provided by Wolf and his staff. Adorable rooms (my wife loved the sunken bathroom), a perfect, beautiful beach a short walk away, and anything you might need within easy access. We will be returning and would recommend Playa Chiquita to anyone wanting a quiet beach getaway. more

I was really looking forward to staying here but was disappointed. There's good access to a nice beach, and you can walk along the beach all the way to Playa Punta Uva, if you don't mind squeezing under some trees, etc. The rooms are cute with good air flow and screens on the windows. The gardens are lovely and the... more

We chose this hotel after coming across their website when planning a short trip in Costa Rica. By "beachfront" it means a 300m walk along a gravel forest trail to the beach. The "cabins" are duplex style with your room directly next to someone elses and the next cabin no more than 3 metres away. We stayed 2 nights and... more

Upon driving our small rented Toyota Prius through Puerto Viejo and the horrible unpaved roads, we arrived at the lodge. I highly recommend getting an SUV for that section of the road. The location of the lodge was just perfect for myself and my girlfriend (25 year olds) because as Thursday and Friday of Holy Week came up the traffic... more

Want to experience Caribbean Costa Rica? This place is the real thing. The hosts were very accomodating and helpful. My words can't begin to describe the scenic beauty of both the resort and the area in general. I would certainly recommend Playa Chiquita to anyone looking for an au naturale Costa Rican experience. more

It's a funny thing about reviews. I am actually someone who really counts on other peoples opinions when purchasing an item or going to a hotel or a restaurant.....If a handful of a people say its great there must be something in it. I just bought a printer and read dozens of reviews and based on that made my choice... more

The Playa Chiquita Lodge was the author's mid-range choice in the 2006 Lonely Planet Costa Rica guide, and that's why my boyfriend and I chose it. Its grounds are beautiful, with its own private path to a beautiful beach, and the rooms aren't bad. We stayed there two nights in February 2007. We are not the resort type of people,... more

Although we had to take an additional bus from PV to Playa Chiquita, it was worth it. We had planned to stay only 3 nights and head to Bocas del Toro (major drought that is unspoken unless you research- check it out before you go. We may have gone if we didn't have the kids with us. The famiily we... more
