My husband and I just returned from our second trip to the gorgeous Punta Uva/Manzanillo area of Costa Rica. This was our first stay, but not last, at Pachamama. Travelling on a small budget, we chose the casita with kitchen so that we could prepare most of our own meals. The bungalows are clean and quaint and in a beautiful... More

We recently went to costa rica for a 8 day stay. Bill was more than helpfull in many areas. before coming down he helped us plan our trip very well. The agency that did the white water rafting (exploradores) was awesome. The canopy tour/ziplines were fun and the trip to Boca was beautiful. all was set up with bills knowlegde.... More

As a young single woman traveling solo to Costa Rica, Bill and his family were incredibly accomodating and made me feel like part of the family!! I stayed in two of the properties and they were both great. It was a true jungle paradise, and I felt totally safe ( which was incredibly important since traveling alone). Bills homemade peanut... My wife and I have been to the Puerto Viejo area 3 times now for trips of about 2 weeks each time. We stayed at Pachamama in the Casita on this trip and enjoyed our time there. Bill included dinner on our first night there and breakfast each morning in the price he quoted us. The dinner was excellent. Bill... More

The property was neglected and poorly maintained. The customer service was dismal. I hope better times return to pachamama, but I cannot recommend it at this time. More

We had the opportunity to stay at three of the properties at Pachamama. We loved all three! The two bungalows are gorgeous. They have a great back porch where you can sit and watch monkeys as you enjoy great Costa Rican coffee and breakfast that Bill brings you every morning. Bill is a great host, he will help you with... We stayed in a bungalow open to the back of the jungle not far off from the river that leads to the ocean. Bill made our stay very pleasant by providing great Costa Rican coffee, and great breakfast. We ate in the open area of our bungalow. It also comes with a small kitchen, refrigerator, propane stove. We decided after... More

Loved the short quick walk to the beach; loved Bill's hospitality (get him to cook you his fish dish - fantastic!), his breakfast was amazing too! Great laid back spot, lots of trees/nature, loved the hammocks! Highly recommend checking it out! More

We just returned from 4 nights in the Casita at Pachamama. > The hotel location is a short walk from the Punto Uva beach, however a few miles from Puerto Viejo city. Expect: Some commute for meals and recommend having a car if you visit this area to maximize your options. > The property grounds are kept up but meant to... More

I knew when I made the reservations that it wasn't going to be a place with all the amenities like a hotel. I wanted to stay in the jungle and have the privacy. I told my spouse that it would just be a step up from camping. There is no air conditioning, no tv, no telephone. I did like the... More
