We were picked up day 1 at our San Jose hotel by bus with are tour guide and then traveled 3 hours by bus with a breakfast stop on the way and then 2 hour boat ride through the Tortuguero canals to Mawamba. Really enjoyed our two nights at Mawamba Lodge as part of our tour of Costa Rica. The rooms are pretty basic wooden affairs with twin beds but are comfortable and had good bathroom facilites. And anyway you won't be spending much time in your room as you will almost certainly be out on the water checking out the abundant wildlife.... more
