The main advantage of this hotel is it's location, both close to Manual Antonio National Park and to the beach. The rooms are nice and spacious, with a very confortable king-size bed. We were in a room on the first floor, so we expected to have a luminous room but the problem is that there is a corridor around all... More

We loved this place. Be advised that there are very few (if any) beachfront properties in Manuel Antonio. Hotel Espadilla is perfectly located--just 100m away from lovely public beach and very close to the entrance of the national park. Ask for an upstairs room which have vaulted ceilings, and thus a much larger feel. Pool area and grounds are beautiful,... More

An excellent location – 5 minutes from the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park & 5 minutes from the beach front, with its cafes, restaurant, supermarket, etc. First the good points … the pool, restaurant & gardens are excellent. Attentive & friendly staff. However, our room (which I believe is typical) needs refurbishment – the décor & fittings are all... More

As part of our tour of Costa Rica, we stayed overnight in the area of Manuel Antonio. We stayed at another hotel, but came here with a group for diner. The place is nice, food was good, as was the service (O do not no cost- as it was part of out deal).

We were fortunate to get a first floor room overlooking the pool and restaurant (there are only two floors in each building). The food was good, if a little bizarre (beef with pineapple was weird). There's a pool table to while away the hours. The pool is very small. The hotel seems to have a lot of tourists coming by... More

Having stayed at several high quality hotels en route to Espadilla, it was a bit of a return to earth when we opened the door of our room to find something reminiscent of a 1970s motel, with a kitchenette devoid of aesthetic virtue. In short, high on function, low on creature comfort. Tired, somewhat past its sell-by date, hideously noisy... More

Rooms were a bit tired but adequate. Lovely pool and nice breakfast included. The property is on a side road off the main street, located very close to the national park entrance. Our room included a kitchenette, which we did not expect. The nearby beach is beautiful for sunsets. Walking distance to many restaurant options but the hills will give... More

We stayed here for 5 nights having toured some of the country and initially thought we could have stayed somewhere better. However after we had walked around we realised that for the money and area this was probably our best choice. The rooms are very spacious and the resort is tucked away from the main street so very quiet. They... More

This was the second time we visited the hotel. Nothing changed :-). Friendly staff and along the pool they brought us water for free! In the morning we saw whiteface monkeys on the roof of the restaurant. The beach is nearby and the entrance of the national park around the corner. A perfect place to stay.

Very good location just 5 minutes from beach or the National Park. It has a nice patio restaurant with good food, and some lush gardens. But it is way expensive for what it offers. Family-owned (with extended members "monopolizing" the area), the staff seemed uninterested, even unhelpful. Rooms have an odd layout: surrounded by verandas providing limited privacy, and a... More
