Stayed 3 nights at Hotel Mimos in March 09. Rooms were good sized and clean - but somewhat dark and had a slight mildew smell (tropical climate + a/c running 24/7). Bathroom was small, but fine. When we arrived, the owner happened to be standing outside and watched as we unloaded our bags. He never even greeted us or anything. Our room was right off the main road, very noisy. . I love the central location of this hotel. Although it's righ off the main road, I wasn't bothered by the traffic noise at all, rather, I liked the convenience of flagging a taxi right outside the hotel, or just walk to the town of Quepos. Great service, terrific breakfast, nice pool, excellent room. The only complaint I do have is that the room we had was close to the main road and you hear the traffic - particularly the trucks. But likely the rooms further to the back would be far better for sound. A very highly recommended stay for Quepos. more

We first had a standard room and were told we could upgrade for not that much more. We decided to stay in the standard room for 2 days. It was sufficient and clean but nothing fancy.
