the hotel is located going up the hill towards manuel antonio. gorgeous hotel. super friendly staff. the restaurant there serves indian/asain food that is absolutely fabulous!! their spices are grown organically on a farm in a different part of costa. the butter chicken was simply amazing. even if you don't stay at the hotel, make sure you visit their restaurant!... more

For our stay at the Plinio we had a three story "tree house" room that was really fun and great for our group of 4. Hans was a very helpful and kind host. The nature trail behind the hotel was great for finding quite a few colorful green/black frogs! The restaurant was excellent with perhaps the best meal of our... more

I stayed in a two story room without A/C. Lots of teak, screened windows and great views. The weather was perfect for sleeping at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was healthy, abundant and expertly prepared. I live in the city, so the road noise didn't bother me. I would, however, recommend earplugs... more

we moved out after staying there for one night. We chose Plinio`s as it was a recommendation from the lonely planet (4 years ago). However it seems that nobody takes care of this place. As it is directly at the street it is loud. Our airconditioning did not work at all, the room was tiny and not worth the 75... more

If you want to stay at a cookie-cutter American type chain hotel, this is not the place for you. If you want a unique, enchanting Costa Rican experience, then I would highly recommend Hotel Plinio. I stayed in August and was never hot at all, despite the lack of air conditioning in the Swiss Family Robinsonesque (you feel like you're... more

Beatriz the receptionist was very helpful and Jorge at the bar was very friendly. I recomend to visit the View Tower back... more

Plinio was great! The four of us, a family with 10 and 13 year old daughters, were looking for an extra night in Manuel Antonio and booked it on a recommendation of the Lonely Planet. We stayed in one of their three-story suite units. Very charming place with lots of character and space. See attached pictures. We especially enjoyed relaxing... more

Great Place! $80 bucks a night for a three-bedroom condo - not bad, a little bit rustic but you are in Costa Rica. The trail behind the lodge to the lookout is fantastic, just do it in the morning before the heat gets oppressive. I recommend swimming in the very nice pool - try it during a downpour! The onsite... more
