We stayed there early May 2013 for two nights for our honeymoon in CR. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Rooms were clean but could be better soundproof, as we heard other guests walking in the corridor at night. Compared to other hotels we've visited in CR, the included breakfest was tastefull and generous. That was a big plus! The... More

We stayed here last weekend! I wanted to show my daughter the cloud forest. We love every thing! Rooms were beautiful and cozy. They had a crib for my toddler ready (I just happened to briefly mention that I had a one and a half year old). Meals were delicious! The waiters were super accommodating with our kids, specially Gerard.... More

Nestled into a wildlife preserve and having its own tropical garden this should have been the highlight of our Costa Rican trip. When we checked in we said we wanted to arrange a coffee plantation tour for the next afternoon. The front desk booked that for us at the same price as buying it direct from the plantation. Good so... More

Dear tomlanin, Thank you for your review of Monteverde Lodge & Gardens. Your feedback led us to a series of problems at our front desk that with one exception had gone unnoticed. I am especially embarrassed that you were bothered with requests for dinner reservations because we had a previous guest send feedback about this (April 16th review by relaxTaxi)... More

We just returned and loved it so much we are already planning when we can return. Everything exceeded our expectations - the hotel, the staff and especially the beautiful animals, flora and fauna. It's definitely a place to escape from the world....our biggest conversation was which bird did we just see and which frozen fruit drink should we order next.... More

We LOVE our stay at the lodge. Our room was on the 2nd floor among the canopies. Very quiet. The best part of the hotel is the staff - very attentive, always smiling, and made sure we are happy. Food was very good. We didn't need to go somewhere else for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. On our last night, the... More

This was a great hotel. I stayed here for 2 nights in May 2012. A late review but better late than never! I wish I would have stayed longer at the hotel and I would definitely go back. Rooms were clean, the staff was AMAZING and really made the trip. Our favorites were Mariano and Gerald. They took time out... More

We spent two action packed days and nights at the Monteverde Lodge in April. My family of four (children ages 11 and 9) had a wonderful experience. The Lodge is not high-end luxury but it is unique, clean and well maintained, with wonderful service and extraordinary gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. In advance of our stay we booked... More

We visited the Monteverde Lodge and Gardens recently with our 6 and 9 year old children. It was a lovely place... peaceful, nice rooms, excellent restaurant. We woke up to the sound of birds out of our balcony, and could walk through the gardens and see hummingbirds and butterflies. It was excellently located, walking distance to all the St. Elena... We stayed here for 2 nights in order to do a birding tour of the cloud forest. The gardens are very nice and quiet. Breakfast was great and early enough to enjoy before our tour. All of the staff were wonderful. This was a great stop between Manuel Antonio and Arenal. Loved it!

This hotel was very different from any other hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica. It really felt like a ski lodge. It was fun though and it was enjoyable to sit by the fireplace and have a nice glass of wine. The grounds were also quite nice. The only complaint is that the front desk constantly was asking us... Dear relaxiTaxi, Thank you for your review and your candid feedback about Monteverde Lodge & Gardens. I'm glad that you enjoyed the atmosphere, the wine and the fireplace. I'm sorry that you felt our receptionists were too pushy about dinner reservations. Thank you for calling this out. We are just finishing our very high season at the lodge and during... More
