I was in Montezuma for a few days and everyplace with a private bathroom was booked except El Jardin. It cost $95 and when I asked them why it was so expensive they told me it was because it was high season...but this is not the first time I've been here during high season and the most for a single... more

In Response to your "Way overpriced. I would not recommend friends to stay there" review Dear visitors, certainly the price was $95 but We feel you are getting excellent value for your money, since the rate its based for double occupancy and this includes 16.23% hotel tax AC, 24 hour security, swimming pool, jacuzzi free internet access and complementary coffee...

I stayed in their biggest cabin, or shall I say, house, at the very top of their property. There's nothing more mind blowing than waking up to howler monkeys, white faced monkeys and coatis right in your back yard every morning. This is definately one of the nicer places to stay in Montezuma. Being used to backpacking and staying in... more

First of all, there aren't any bad locations in Montezuma - the entire town is set on two tiny streets both 2 minutes from long white sand beaches. The most memorable part of this hotel was the wildlife. We were there literally 30 seconds when 4 howler monkeys started bouncing through trees. We were in Costa Rica for 5 days... more

When we arrived at El Jardin we were pleasantly suprised ny the pretty grounds and inviting pool. For the price, the pool area is very nice. We then went to our room which was by the pool in the back corner in a nice location. The room had two double beds and a twin. The room was okay. It wasn't... more

El Jardin has beautiful grounds & a lovely pool area. Right at the crossroads of Montezuma, it's an easy walk to everything; however, it is right next to the road & very noisy. Just one block from Chico's Bar, the music starts at about 9 p.m., then the bongo drums start up & go on until the wee hours of... more

THe rooms at this hotel vary quite a bit. There were 6 of us. 4 of us stayed in one of the street-level rooms with 2 queen beds. 2 stayed in one of the cabins at the VERY top of the hill - which provided a good view and seemed much cleaner and nicer. Montezuma beach wasn't quite what I... more

Having had a confirmed reservation (with a confirmation number), we were put in an awful position when we arrived and no rooms were available for our stay. I met a couple the week before who had the same situation happen, so it's apparently not uncommon. Additionally, the manager was not available so nothing was done to help us. Fortunately, the... more

My feelings for El Jardin are mixed. I spent there four nights with my family. We had the cottage on top of the hill, right next to the jungle. The setting is perfect with a beautiful view. We were woken up every morning at 5AM by monkeys. Montezuma is a wonderful small place with plenty of interesting restaurants and great... more

We rolled into town without reservations and found that the town was pretty packed. We were able to get the last room at El Jardin for $95/night (The most we paid for anywhere in four trips to Costa Rica). The room was pretty basically furnished and dark with crappy lighting (fluorescent light bulbs) that was so dim you couldn't read... more

This hotel is beautiful. The staff is friendly, the grounds are beautiful. no restaurant onsite but plenty to choose from just a few meters away. No Wi-Fi while we were there but the staff told us it was going to be installed in December 2008. the ppols are gorgeous and the town is a great place to stay. Totally recommend... more
