I traveled here in January for a winter time getaway with my wife and we had a great time being in the rain forest and enjoying nature. This place is ideal if you enjoy outdoor, active activities, want to learn about the rain forest ecosystem and crave the solitude of being far away from civilization. The staff at El Remanso... more

I stayed at El Remanso for a week in early December to celebrate my partner's 40th birthday. We traveled with our best friend as well. Every bit of our week long stay was terrific! The staff made us feel right at home and could not have been friendlier or more attentive. They went out of their way to pull off... more

I went to El Remanso with my 2 closest friends to celebrate my friends birthday. The staff was AMAZING, anything we needed what taken care of. Including planning a surprise birthday party! They were warm, friendly, yet kept a distance at times to be respectful of my need to relax. Just lovely people. The scenery is beautiful. There is lush... more

I stayed here for two nights in mid-December 2009. I was dropped off by a colectivo from Carate after finishing a two-night trip in Corcovado National Park, and I was pleasantly surprised to find Cindy waiting for me at the gates with one of the El Remanso vehicles -- it was nice not having to walk from the main road.... more

El Remanso is by far the most beautiful place I stayed during a recent trip to Costa Rica. The remote location allows for spectacular nature viewing and amazing sunsets. The beach at the property is amazingly beautiful with wide, soft sand and bright blue water. There is no shortage of wildlife around the area - we saw 3 types of... more

What you see is what you get: their website (--) shows you exactly what to expect: wild nature, beautiful scenery & views. The room we got deluxe suite is worth it: large room with generous sized bed and great bathroom. The view in the afternoon is worth it all: sunset on the pacific ocean. Meals are above standard and breakfast... more

El Remanso is the most beautiful & magical place I have ever visited. I researched Costa Rica to try & find the perfect place for our first visit to this country. My research definitely paid off. We did not want to have to cook for ourselves but did not want the typical all inclusive resort experience either. We found such... more

Our first experience in Costa Rica during the rainy season was enhanced greatly by our stay at El Remanso. I use trip advisor often to look at lodging options in Europe, and agree with the ones that have been listed here for El Remanso. Never having written a review before, i found that i wanted to share our positive response... more

My husband and I took our children (ages 7 and 8) to the Osa this summer to show them the "wild" side of Costa Rica. We had been previously with the kids and wanted to expose them to the jungle atmosphere (we had both been to the Osa previously, my husband has been 5+ times). In the past we relied... more
