Overall, we thought this place was pretty good, its nothing fancy but its clean and the restraunt nextdoor is great and its right on the ocean....Dont leave your shoes on the front stoop overnight, either the "dogs" or the "locals" with take them...

try to get a room on the water side. dinner is very good at hotel restaurant. ask owner debbie for info on other places to eat and sight see. leave passports and valuables with owner. take a copy of your passport when you leave the hotel. try anight swim at high tide right across from your room. if you are... This hotel has obviously gone downhill since some of the reviews were written. The room we had was damp & ceilings full of black mold. The "suicide shower" did not work and the a/c worked, but only just, and was very noisy (like having a go-kart in the room. One light not working and faucet coming out of the sink.... More

The people working at the hotel were very nice and caring.. Some of the rooms are better than others but the people working there will take care of you. Also, they will help you get around Costa Rica and will set you up with people who will give you a real adventure if you are looking for one.

What a terrible experience. We stayed in the "garden" rooms. Musty/moldy smell, grimy floor and bathroom, the sink was coming off the wall, the hand towells had actual holes and frayed like they were used for cleaning, the A/C was very noisy, there was no hot water no matter what we tried, the door stuck and had to be lifted...
